Wärmeschutzglas verwendet. Ausdrücke wie Sonnenschutzglas, Sichtschutzglas, Einbruchschutzglas oder Schallschutzglas bezeichnen überwiegend ein Mehrscheiben-Isolierglas mit speziellen zusätzlichen Eigenschaften, wiewohl eine einzelne Flachglaskonstruktion diese ebenfalls haben kann.
Gegenüber wärmeren Klimazonen steht in Zentral- und Nordeuropa bei
wärmedämmenden Fenstern weniger die Reduzierung der erforderlichen Kühlungsenergie (hohe Betriebskosten von Klimaanlagen), als vielmehr eine
wesentliche Einsparung bei der Heizenergie für Gebäude im Vordergrund.

lässt sich an ihrem charakteristischen, symmetrischen Wuchs und den sattgrünen, gleichmäßig angeordneten Nadeln erkennen. Bei Mutter Natur wird sie so weit wie 60 Meter hoch und
kann ein stattliches Alter von bis zu 500 Jahren erreichen. Die Nordmanntanne ist eine immergrüne Pflanze, die geradlinig
wächst und bereits im jungen Alter einen pyramidalen Habitus ausbildet.
Sie sind verhältnismäßig weich und pieken kaum. Die Nadeln sind 1 bis
3 Centimeter lang und 2 bis 3 Millimeter breit.
Auf der Oberseite sind sie dunkelgrün und leicht glänzend.
Den Glanz verdanken sie einer dünnen Wachsschicht, die sie vor einer zu starken Sonneneinstrahlung schützt.
