My husband gets a tip payout every week of about 70 bucks. We put it in a firesafe box to save up for any trips!

Two ways, really…1) I do my best to cut back on unnecessary purchases — no frivolous spending PERIOD, and 2) any extra money that I get my hands on gets put aside for vacation/summer spending.

I don't really have any spare money to save for summer adventures at the moment, so it's going to be free stuff like street festivals and going to the park for me.
I save for vacation by contributing to my credit union each pay. It adds up!
We take all our change from purchases and put it away through the year plus we get bottle return money of 10 cents per bottle in our state so we save them up.

I put aside a little bit every week. I also use coupons, buy when things are on sale, and live quite frugally.
Instead of going to vacation spots where we don't know anyone living there, we tend to visit places where we have family so we can visit them and find cheaper lodging. More summer adventure tips would be great!

My problem is that I don't save for summer adventures and then the summer comes and I am stuck going nowhere!
we save as much as we can from the previous year in our savings account then see what we can spend to go out and go camping in the summer or take the kids to a amusement park.

We have a strict budget that we follow every month. The leftover money is put into one of two areas – our IRA accounts or our savings account.
Kids Eat free days, free museum afternoons, free bowling, free activities in town or in the city. I just look out for all the deals.
We have a glass jar on the desk that we put in whatever extra dollars and/or change we may end up with at the end of the day.
We try to get the best deals on everything so our money spreads farther.
