For summer fun, we cut cost where we can and spend the savings on one or two little trips. We also have a lot of fun participating in free or low-cost community events. Thank you. Laurie Adams, adamsfamily at peak.org
We eat at home instead of eating out every other weekend if we have an attainable goal in the near future.
We put aside a little each month into a savings account for summer fun.

we put all our spare change in a jar and then use that to do things we normally wouldn't do.
I like using daily deal type sites to go places with my family. Great for going to farms and zoos and local go cart places. I can save 50% or more. I also bring my own lunches to these places. Especially when going to bigger places like Great America. you save a ton.

We buy season passes to a "local" amusement park. Because our zip code falls in the "outer market" area, it makes them $10-$20 cheaper than normal. Since it's really only about an hour away we can afford to drive down pretty often. Also, since we have family in that area, we don't have to pay for a place to stay.
We go visit family and save on hotels by staying with family.
