local pharmacy do you have in your area (Rite Aid, Walgreen’s, Publix, Kroger,
etc.)? Have you ever considered shopping at a pharmacy and using
coupons?

I do not shop at these stores much because the listed pricing is always so confusing! It is priced at this much but really without rewards it is this much, too much for me.
ATLanta Saving Moms says
Ok and it is okay if this is just not the store for you right now Amanda. Sometimes the sales pricing at different stores can be confusing. I agree. Just find one that you really enjoy and stick to it. In the future, you can always give it a try. 🙂

I appreciate the tips for shopping at Rite Aid, I can't believe that I didn't think about signing up for their emails. They really do have the best clearance items, my best finds were a bunch of mini items like tape, mini staplers, mini notebooks etc. for .10 that I used for goodie bags and last year I bought 6 hanging baskets with cocoa liners for .75 each.

I have not done much shopping at CVS. This is an area that I would like to get better at.
ATLanta Saving Moms says
Great! Just grab your sales flyer and look at the sale items especially those you can get extracare bucks back in the store. You may have to build up to the ECB at first but they are easy. Buy only what you need to gain the ECBs. Once you have a good amount, cash them in on other items that provide an ECB. Let me know if you have other questions. 🙂

I absolutely love CVS. Within my couponing group, I'm the only one that frequents CVS & saves alot of money. I just went there today & afte all my coupons I spent 17.95 and got 10 ecbs after buying 3 packs of huggies diapers. I would definitely use coupons at a pharmacy. I wish there was a Rite Aid in my area though.
ATLanta Saving Moms says
Excellent Brittany. That is a wonderful savings. 🙂

I wish we had a CVS or Rite Aid. The only "national" pharmacy we have is Walgreens. After reading their coupon policy above, my head is spinning. This will take some time to comprehend. Thank goodness for this class!

Yes, Walgreens has some exciting rewards that you can get. What I usually do is see what is on sale with their store ads and how many points certain items will give and shop for those items. Once my points build up, then I cash in. 🙂 ~ Quida

I love the program CVS recently started where you earn $5 for every 10 prescriptions, I think it is. For me, that will be once every few weeks….

Thanks Sherri for the comments. Every penny earned is great including prescriptions!

I shop at Walgreens and Rite Aid. We don't have a CVS 🙁
These two stores are where I really struggle. The Walgreens is always out of stock on whatever item is a killer deal. I also hate how they always put in small print that you have to buy $20 worth of such and such products in order to get 2K Register Rewards. Rite Aid I have the same problem with having to buy items to get your up rewards. I need help in this area.
ATLanta Saving Moms says
Hi Tammy, with your local Walgreens, find out when products are usually stocked {when do they get a truck in}. Also, ask for a rain check on items that are out of stock – this way, as soon as it is stocked up you can still get it at the same sales price. Both Rite Aid and Walgreens unfortunately have different sets of rules when receiving their rewards. 🙂
Karen B says
I seldom shop at cvs and Walgreens only because by the time I do my other shopping I seem to run out of time because of the distance I have to drive.

My favorite pharmacy to shop is CVS, which I receive email coupons and use my CVS card to receive more coupons in the store. They also take manufacturer's coupons and I can use my Extra Bucks to utilize the most savings.
ATLanta Saving Moms says
Yes, I love the email coupons too. 🙂
