Yes, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Many years ago, it was my
dream to have my grandmother to come and see me graduate from nursing
school with honors but my dream failed! I lost my grandmother just a few
months prior to this disease and it literally tore me apart! She is
definitely part of the reason I share a lot about Saving and helping
others with you today! I am quite sure several of you have lost a loved
one or know someone who has this disease. On some days during
this month, I will share just a few tips about Breast Cancer but always
do your own research and consult with your provider if you have more
questions. SSFAM Health Saving Tip#1: Always perform your monthly self
breast exam about 3-5 days after your menstrual starts. If you have gone
through menopause, perform them on the same day every month. If you are
40 and over, talk to your MD about a mammogram. If you notice anything
unusual with your breast at anytime, notify your family doctor for more
discussion. If you have never performed a monthly self breast exam, go
to –> NationalBreastCancer.org/breast-self-exam! Tag a friend who you know needs this Health Saving Tip! Practice steps to good health.
