When swings and rocking just won't put a baby to sleep… swinging my baby in her carseat always seemed to work. I wound up getting a decent amount of sleep using this method.

Get yourselves a Baby swing-it is a second pair of hands, portable & very convenient-I was a nerves wreck when I had my first baby trying to get things done-worrying about her in the other room-never getting anything done in a timely manner-because I wasted my time running back and forth checking on her-with my 2nd baby I got a swing that went every where with me-it became my best friend. And sleep when your baby sleeps.Enjoy:)

36 years ago when my first child, my daughter, was born, my mother-n-law gave me an excellent piece of advice. Never tiptoe around a baby. Run the sweeper do everything you would normally do. Ends up best piece of advice ever. My kids could sleep through an earthquake. Thanks for this opportunity.
Vicky Stuart says
Like everyone else said sleep when the baby sleeps and accept any help that is offered. The house work can wait as long as there is clean clothes, bottles and nappies for bub. The rest will all work itself out. 🙂

you should try and take naps while the baby is sleeping or napping and use Ebay to buy some slightly used or new clothes
daer0n says
I think buying second hand clothes for your baby is best than buying brand new, kids grow our of their clothes so fast, especially in the first couple of months. Doing this saves a lot of money and hassle, -unless, you plan on keeping the baby's stuff for your next baby, or for when the baby grows up 🙂

To have patience. It's so easy to get upset or yell out when it gets to frustrating. The lack of sleep, the constant tending to baby but you have to realize that babies are selfish, they cry when they want something, its their nature and they know no different, you have to be patient and in time you'll know what each cry, whimper and whine is for. You can't get upset at them, you have to just smile and remember patience is key. =D

The main things your baby needs is your love, food, clothing and a place to sleep. Don't over-do it with buying stuff. Save some of that money for college!

You can find great low cost clothes at garage sales, consignment stores, goodwill, and salvation army stores. No need to spend hundreds on something that the baby will out grow in a few months. Skip the actual shoes till the baby can actually crawl or walk.
