Georgia’s Governor Kemp (R) has issued an order for all Georgians to shelter in place until April 13, 2020 due to the need to flatten the curve of the Coronavirus/COVID-19! Right now Georgia has 4,638 cases of COVID-19 and 138 deaths. There is currently 911,000 Coronavirus cases globally.
All K-12 grade schools will be closed through the end of the school year.
The shelter in place order will be in effect starting this Friday 4.3.2020. There has been a purchase of four medical steel pods that are shipping containers that has been converted to mobile units with beds as well as equipment. Each of these units offers (20-24 beds) with a nurses station to treat patients as they arrive. These pods are state own and will be staffed with military medical providers.
What does shelter in place mean for you? You need to shelter in place, continue social distancing of at least 6 feet+, individuals should not be gathering in large groups. You should stay home unless you have to get essential food, gas, need to exercise or you have to get to work.
Individuals who violate these orders could be fined and or prosecuted.
