The record in my family were my great-aunt & uncle who were high school sweethearts & remained together almost 65 years. Anniversaries always included a home-cooked meals & several generations of family & friends.
65 years! Wow! Truly interesting and thanks for the comment. 🙂
My mother and father have been married almost 35 years. They celebrate by going out to eat and my dad always gives her a small bottle of her favorite perfume Beautiful. She usually gives him a tool that he has been asking for, for the last several months. What is special about their relationship is that my dad took care of my mom when she was having seizure and couldn't remember who she was or where she was. He saw her through the year that she had 12 surgeries in 12 months. Now she will see him through his early onset Alzheimer's. He keeps telling her to leave him that he is useless. I know that is exactly what my mom was saying when she was suffering through her trial. I know that my parents really do love and care for each other because they have already been through so much together this is just one more bump in their very bumpy road.
Very nice comment Stephanie. I enjoyed reading your response. Thanks for the great comment. 🙂
Unfortunately my dad left my mom when I was 9 months old. She had a hard time with losing her true love and it was tough on her and unfortunately tough on me and my brother. She has been married and divorced 5 times….after the last divorce she decided that she had already had time with her true love. My dad died when I was 13 and as hard as it was for her she was there at the funeral with me. My grandparents helped raise me and my little brother…they were married 51 years when my grandfather passed away (I was 15). They had the most amazing relationship and even 20 years later I can remember the love the 2 of them had for each other. My husband and I went through some very tough times where I had to learn forgiveness for something I never imagined could happen but with the Lords guidance and strength our marriage is stronger than ever and we just celebrated our 11th anniversary. My grandparents and their wonderful marriage AND my mom and her not so great relationships really taught me a lot about love and understanding 🙂
Wonderful comment Amy and I am glad that you have a great relationship with your husband. Truly inspirational. Thanks for the comments. 🙂
My mom and dad were married for 27 years before she died. My dad always got here red roses and the last anniversary she was alive she bought my dad the record "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers. Every time I here that song it makes me cry. Gale

My dad died 6 years ago but before that my parents were married for 34 years. They knew each other since they were 12 years old. They usually went out to a nice resturant to celebrate.
