Day 4 of 5 ~ How many Coupons Can I Use + More! ~ #SSFAM Coupon Class

Welcome to Day 4 of  the #SSFAM Coupon Class ~ We are still moving on! Yesterday, you
learned the importance of using your store sales flyer, creating a shopping list, searching a coupon database, coupon lingo and a helpful coupon scenario. Today we will discuss How many coupons you can use along with some other helpful tips that I want you to continue and grow with. Be sure to
scroll to the bottom to see who the winner was for yesterday of the 2 Target Coupon Booklets, “It’s Savings Season”….Let’s get going!

Coupon Limits ~ Some coupons have coupon limitations and it is important to know how many coupons you can use per transaction or per day in your store. There are some cashiers who are not familiar with the coupon language and you may have to let them know in a polite manner. Make sure that you read the Coupon Policy for your store on how many coupons you can use per day per product in their stores.  If you don’t see it written, ask the store manager. If they don’t know, contact corporate. Read some of the coupon limits below to help you better understand what you may see on coupons you use.  Keep it simple.

Limit One Coupon Per Purchase  ~  for every product that you purchase, you will need to use one coupon. If you purchase 2 Hershey’s Candy Bars, you will need to use 2 coupons.
SSFAM Scenario:  Hershey’s Candy Bars on sale in Kroger for $0.50 each. You have 1 MF coupon that says Save $0.25 off of 1 {Limit one coupon per purchase}. In order to get both candy bars for $0.50, you will need to give the cashier 2 Save $0.25/1 MF Hershey’s candy bar coupons.
Limit 4 Like Coupons ~ You can only use 4 of the same exact coupons per transaction.
SSFAM Scenario:  Hershey’s Candy Bars on sale in Kroger for $0.50 each. The store has a limit of 5 products that you can purchase when using coupons. Your Save $0.25/1 Hershey’s MF coupon has a limit of 4 like coupons. You can grab 4 candy bars and use 4 MF Save $0.25/1 coupons. You will pay $1.00 OOP for 4 candy bars.
Limit 1 Like Coupon Per Household Per Day ~ You can only use just 1 coupon per day per household.
SSFAM Scenario:  Hershey’s Candy Bars are on sale for $0.25 each. The store has a limit of 8 products that you can purchase when using coupons. Your Save $0.25/1 Hershey’s MF coupon says limit one coupon per purchase. You can only purchase 1 Hershey’s bar for FREE and you may pay just a small sales tax.
When to contact Corporate?
Whenever you enter issues or concerns when shopping at a store and the situation is not taken care of immediately in the store, gather the names of the cashiers or managers involved and contact the store corporate office. I suggest that you make sure that you are using the coupon correctly in the beginning and are following the coupon policy and rules.  If you are absolutely sure that you are and the store may be at fault, proceed in contact corporate for more discussion. Don’t lose your coupon coolness at the register! Keep in mind that you are being filmed and have agreed to being filmed when you walk in their store and the signs are up in the store that monitoring is taking place. Always keep this in mind. You have a voice and you should use it politely and in a professional manner. The stores need us as customers and we need them to provide great products.
Publix Corporate ~ 1-800-242-1227
Kroger Corporate ~ 1-866-221-4141
Walmart Corporate ~ 1-800-925-6278
Target Corporate ~ 1-800-440-0680
Food Depot ~ 770-474-7285
Whole Foods ~ 512-542-0878
Kmart ~ 1-866-562-7848
Where to send Expired Manufacture Coupons? ~ Are you aware that coupons that are at least 6 months expired can be sent to military overseas? Well now you are! You can gather both your clipped and nonclipped Manufacture coupons only that have expired and send them to my good friend Wendy. She will send them overseas for you. Do not throw your MF coupons away anymore!
Send Expired Manufacture Coupons to Wendy and she will ship them directly overseas to the military!

How to Organize Your Coupons?
Coupon binder – The coupon binder method is very popular and I even
sell an organizing system here at SSFAM.  Go here to view this great system. Having your coupons cut and
in one entire location can be very helpful when you are in the store and see a
sale or clearance item and do not have to worry about going home to get the coupon
and come back to the store.  You have all of your coupons right with you
and when you are planning your shopping trips, you can pull the coupons you do
want to use and place them in the front area of the coupon binder for easier
access.  In addition, you can store other items in your coupon
binder.  For example, store coupon policies, scissors, calculator, pens,
sticky notes, ipad, etc.  A con to having a coupon binder is that
sometimes it can get heavy depending on how many coupons you have in it. When I
go on major shopping trips, I carry mine.  You can see a picture of my red
beauty below. It is filled with all kinds of coupons that I need including my
business cards. It is a Case-It binder and has a very neat handle and shoulder
strap.

Storage bins/Clip
Free method
~ These
are great for storing your coupon inserts if you prefer to not clip your
coupons {get your inserts, write the date on the front and then file in an
accordion folder or hanging file folders and arrange by date or month}.  I use this method mostly.  If you are
considering a monthly filing method that I follow of monthly inserts for Red
Plum, Smart Source, P&G, General Mills, Kroger Mailers, Restaurants, this
may be a great method for you.  A Con to this method is not having all of
your coupons with you during a shopping trip but you can keep your case in the
trunk of your car if you need it or just plan to have your coupons on your next
shopping trip.

Coupon Hand clutch {fits in one hand}-this is a great
method to use for quick trips to the grocery store or pharmacy and you have a
special time limit but want your coupons organized.  It is also nice that
it can fit inside your purse or you can just hold it in your hand.  These
are also for sale here at SSFAM.

Note- find the method that works best for
you.  If you have one method now that is not working, consider what your
needs are and maybe try something different.  Whatever method you choose,
make sure it is one that gives you easy access to your coupons and can help
keep you organized during your shopping trips.
What is a Coupon Fairy?
When you are not going to use a Coupon or have extra coupons to give to someone who doesn’t you can be considered a Coupon Fairy. As a couponer, it is always great to give back in your community and to your family and friends when you can. You can also give to complete strangers right in the store. Leave extra coupons on great products that someone else may need or could use immediately to reduce their cost OOP! I do this and other Coupon Fairy activities several times each year and I have been doing this for a very long time. It is a lot of fun. Give it a try sometimes.
And now just a few SSFAM Coupon Fairy Tips:

*Do not leave any IP {Internet Printable} coupons. Some may take these and copy them on a copier and remember these have your IP address on them.
*Do not leave expired coupons. After all, who would be able to use them? Try to leave coupons that will not expire for at least 2-3 weeks.
* Don’t leave coupon all over the store where they may fall right onto the floor. We don’t want this. Try to tuck just a few right under the product so that it will not fall and hit the floor and where the customer can see it.
*Politely peek into the cart of the person behind or in front of you. If you have a coupon that they can use a coupon on that you have, politely give it to them. They may thank you. Pay it forward! Sometimes I will say, ” Excuse me, but I have a great coupon that you can use on your xyz product that can help you save more!” They are almost always thankful!

This is very informative and a great post! I wish I could be this organized about coupons with a binder or folder system but every time I start I end up getting too busy to keep it up and before I know it all my organized coupons expired and the current ones are in a heap on the floor. 🙂

I give coupons to people I see if I decide not to buy something in store and I see they have it. I didn't know your ip address was on ones printed from the internet. I don't print too often but it's good to know. Thanks!

Yes, I love being a coupon fairy. Every time i go shopping I leave some coupons behind. There was a lady in Publix who was so impressed with my binder and as a joke she says, I bet you don't have a coupon for some milk that she was buying. I said yes I sure do and gave her some. It is such an awesome feeling to help
others in any way that you can. #SSFAMCouponClass
