For today-
Comment on the following question:
Comment on the following question:
When I was younger my mom would help me increase my reading by reading books to her sometimes before she would go to bed. One book I remember the most was, “The Big Bark”. It was a story about young little girl who would always hear this big bark while walking past this fence, but it was actually a little dog. Did your mother or grandmother inspire you to read certain books or magazines? If so, share what type of books/magazines you remember and do you still read them today?
Winner will be announced on tomorrow a.m.

Reading has always been a priority in my family, & I was encouraged to read anything I liked. My mom was particularly fond of mysteries by Agatha Christie & Michael Innes, & I do sometimes reread them when I'm feeling nostalgic.

My Mom is so special for cooking homemade meals, cakes and buying fresh fruits and vegetables for us. She always cared enough to prepare healthy, well balanced and nutritious foods. Now, I do the same, much to my family's delight. canti730@gmail.com

My mom always read us the series of books with the gold label on the side (maybe the mother goose series?). Well now I go to garage sales looking for those to read to my daughter – we have found quite a few and she loves them!

The first book I learned to read was The Lorax – I still think of my mom every time I see an ad for the movie or the book in a store. 🙂

We had a unique situation: my mom worked full time and my dad was home with us. That means I picked up his habits, like reading lots and lots of fiction novels. We didn't have access to magazines when I was growing up.
