I never really had a "dad" so I will talk about my grandpa and I think his greatest achievement was just loving all of us. I never doubted his feelings for us and always felt welcome going to my grandparents home. In an era when many men really felt all they needed to do was to go to work, he went way above that making us laugh, making ice cream every time we visited, and playing games with us. I loved him very much.
ATLanta Saving Moms says
I love it and home made ice cream is the best! Thanks for the comments. π

My father's greatest accomplishment was learning to read. My dad didn't know how to read until I started learning to read. I wondered why my parents had this strange rule whether or not I had reading homework I was to bring my reading book home. Later I learned that after us kids went to bed my mother would work on teaching my father to read using my reading book. So as I learned to read my father learned to read. My dad finally was able to take a few college classes and because of those classes he was able to get a promotion at work which was better for his health. I am so proud of him. I am also proud of my mom for working with him and teaching him to read.
