The thing I really cherish is a plant my mom gave me when I moved out of the house. She had it for as long as I can remember and then gave it to me along with the pot. 12 years later it is still alive, healthy and flourishing. Everytime I look at it I think about my mom and how she passed on this living thing for me to take care of and nurture. And I want to keep it alive and pass it on to my daughter some day.

My mom also cherishes her Bible. It's tattered and looks like it is falling apart. When you open the cover, photos, notes, etc. fall from the pages!
