I wish I could have had more time with my grandmothers, but I'm thankful for the genuine relationships we did have.

I wish I could have given her a better life. She was human and flawed as the rest of us but her heart was big and to the end she gave all of it. I miss her and wish she were still here with me so I could take care of her as she always took care of me.

I would watch my mother with my 4 year younger brother when I was 10 or so and he would be cuddled up to her and I would try to sit next to her and she would say "get off me". My heart would break. I wanted her to love me and tried to get her to love me until the day she died. I did well in school. I had a great job, I never did drugs. All of which my brother could not say. I now realize it was her. It was the way she was, and I can not change the way someone is. All I could do is love her. And I did.

Well I am glad that you were able to love her Mary throughout the difficult times. Thanks for comments. 🙂

Even though my was strict, i could talk to her so i wouldnt have changed anything. With my grandmother who passed away in 2004, i wish i could have gotten more information on family history about her great grandmother who was supposedly full blooded chinook indian. but her parents came over from germany and may have adopted her and we dont have records for that.

Thanks for the personal comments Dobie. 🙂

I wish my mother didn't feel so guilty about my childhood. She thinks that because of problems she and my father had in my childhood until I was about 14 years old is why I am disabled and not married today. I wish she could understand I had a major accident. With my grandma I which I did better at calling and talking to her once I moved away from my home I almost completely for got about my extended family because I was struggling keeping up with my own family that was moving out of my parents home and starting their own families. I have severe telephone anxiety so sometimes it takes me days or weeks to be able to come up with the strength to make phone calls that need to be made.

i would like to say i would change the way i was to my mom as a teen but if i was a teen again, i probaly would act the same way thinking i knew everything at that age, the way she was to me at that age made me who i am today a very strong willed person who takes a lickin and keeps on tickin, lol. i know in the past two years i have tried to be closer to my mother, appreciate her for being my mother. so i guess no i wouldnt change much, i think im already doing it.
