I gave my dad a leather wallet that I made in my craft class. This was hand stamped very think leather on the outside and then I hand stitched the card holders and money holder inside. This was stitched with an intricate stitch pattern that I worked on for about 3 days with every free minute that I had both at home and at school. I told him he had to use the wallet because I didn't want it collecting dust. Because of how thick the leather was it took a long time for him to break in the wallet so that it was comfortable in his pocket. He only recently had to get a new wallet because of how thick the leather was and the design of the stitching with leather lacing it took almost 17 years to actually wear out. I know that he cant pass it on but how often can a child even a tween make something that last that long. I think my dad's favorite gift were when he got tools. But he also loved spending time with his children. My dad was really hands on.

I think homemade gifts are the best and most treasured! One year growing up I wrote my dad a poem and framed it for him. Meganlsutliff@gmail.com

when I was little I use to give my dad candy that I would buy at the corner store and I probably only spent maybe a quarter but my dad (Herman) would always act like it was the best gift he ever got. Now I just take him out to eat. If I spend money on him now he gets mad because he always tells me he doesn't need anything and to keep my money. Gale pgan427@yahoo.com

The gift my Dad (Dave) liked the best was when I did a family tree for him. Including a framed pic of our Clan Crest. He actually cried, not something I've seen him do often.

i remember being little and always giving my father ties, then we started giving him old spice for a long time, then we would make stuff in school. i remember we made coffee cups one year and gave them to my dad michael. i think for kids to make gifts are the best, it shows they put love into it.
