Comment on the following question:
The words “I Love You” really mean a lot coming from your Father. Especially, when you consider him to be your superhero {smiles}. How often did you hear these words from your Father? Or, how often did you hear your Father say this to your mother or step-mother? How often do you say these words to your little girls or boys?
Be sure to leave your fatherβs name and your email.
My answer: My Father would definitely tell me often and then he would kiss me on my cheek.

My Dad Richard says it everyday, to myself, my brother, and my Mother. He relies on me a great deal since his illnesses have made it difficult for him to even get out of bed. He relies on me for all the little things he used to do around the house. I know how much it pains him to not be able to do these things and how grateful he is that I have decided to stay at home and take care of him and my Mom and brother. I am his and my Mom's baby and I know how much they love and appreciate me.

My dad always ends his "I love you" with "sweetheart." No one's I love means the same as my dad's. I am truly his little girl always.

My Dad would say I love you every night to all of us kids. When I was younger my dad did say I love you much to my mom. But now my dad says I love you to my mother several times a day. It is even fun to watch them together because they never yell at each other. If they have a disagreement they just talk to each other and work it out. I guess that is what you get when you have been married for over 35 years of Marriage does for a relationship. My dad (Dennis) now is facing the hardest time of his life having Alzheimer's but my parents still say I love you several times a day and now are teaching younger couples in there church about how important communication and saying I love you is to keep a marriage strong. They even have been assigned a couple of couples to sponsor in a way by being their when they go through stressful times, like having a baby, finical issues, and if they just need another couple to talk to. My parents take this responsibility very seriously. They have even gone to another couples house in the middle of the night because of an urgent issue. So I love you in my family was taught by example and is now being taught to others who may not have had such great role models.

Those words were simply not spoken at my house. i guess it was just understood that we all loved each other as dysfunctional as my family was. However, I make an effort to say "I love you " to my dad Joe/parents often and to my children thereby starting a new and positive pattern in our lives.

Sadly, aside from God telling me to love my parents and obey them, my dad was not even close to the superhero you speak of in your post. Unfortunately, I love you was not spoken often or often times at all by my dad… only to us by my mom. I grew up in a very abusive environment, and as I (and thankfully my sisters) have moved passed this, experiencing God's amazing healing and provision, I pray that my dad finds peace one day. (His name is Curtis).

I regret to see this Pam and I definitely wish you nothing but a lot of love and peace in your future. Just know that there is one blogger in this world that loves you and your post and glad to see that you have commented. {Hugs and Smiles}. Quida π
