The Average American worker can sometimes commute 15-16 miles one way and the average car gets almost 23 mpg. With today’s gas prices at nearly $3.68/gallon, one could pay almost $25.75 week or close to $1,300 a year.
Consider carpooling with a friend especially if you drive to work every day. If you are making several trips during the week to the store for shopping, consider combining all of your shopping to one specific day to save on gas.

I have a family member who recently started taking the bus to and from work, monthly pass cost what he was paying weekly in gas, this is a big savings for his family!
