Online Coupon Class Day #11! Just how many #coupons for a savings?

Welcome to Day #11 of our Online Coupon Class!
Today’s topic is:
{How many coupons do I have to use in order to see a savings?}
—It depends on if an item is on sale or not.  For example, if you see a jar of Duke’s
Mayonnaise that is on sale for $1.99/1 item in your store sales ad and you have a coupon that says,
“Save $2.00/1 jar of Duke’s Mayonnaise – limit one per purchase.  If there is not a store limit on the amount
of coupons you can use {know your store’s coupon policy} and  you have 4 of the
$2.00/1 jar of Duke’s Mayonnaise coupons, you can purchase 4 jars for FREE!
That is an immediate savings of $7.96 ($1.99 x 4 jars){Great right?}.  Savings can be immediate at the register and sometimes you can shock yourself + the cashier and those behind you.

On the other hand, if you have the same $2.00/1 jar coupon for Duke’s Mayonnaise but the cost is now $3.99/1 jar because the store sale is completely over, you will pay $1.99 per jar {$3.99 – $2.00 = $1.99/jar} and there will be no savings.  As you can see, it is best to use the coupon on the sales item. I once used 20 coupons on 20 noodle items that my daughter loves.  Each item was $1.00 in a 10 for $10 mega event at Kroger and my coupon was for $1.00/1, so each item was FREE and I shocked the cashier (lol!).

Questions:  What is the most amount of coupons you have used in one transaction for a certain product? Are you aware that sometimes you can purchase products for FREE when they are on sale and you have a great coupon to use?

Happy Couponing and have a wonderful Thursday,

Quida 🙂

A little organization can save you a lot! I find matchups for Safeway, use my Safeway card after loading it with Personalized Deals and on line coupons. Also I have found that even though I load the card with coupons on line, when I get to the store I also hand over the coupons I cut out of the flyer. Some of them when scanned do nothing, but some of them subtract even more money, even though I loaded the coupon onto the card!

I went one day and used a bunch of coupons, I was afraid the guy behind me was going to get upset so I turned and said I am sorry. He said noooo don't be sorry, I am curious to see how much you save. I got 282.00 worth of groceries for 116.00. He looked at me and said can you wait for my wife she went to get coffee, but I want her to see how much you saved, maybe you can get her to use coupons. LOL

i think the most coupons i have used was about 20, that's including digicoupons. I had $60 in savings, but didnt get anything free. That's a goal that i am working extremely hard to get.

I haven't used a lot of coupons at once before. One time I saved over $30 at Whole Foods, which was pretty awesome!

I would definitely say so. 🙂 Just think if you saved #30 each week at Whole Foods, that is $120 for the month. What are some things you could spend these savings on? I can think of so many things. Great job Alex. 🙂 ~ Quida

ok So if the coupon says there is 1 coupon per purchase ,do i follow that or can i go into a store and buy lets say 5 of them.

You definitely want to follow the coupon. You can use 5 coupons but you must have 5 of the same products. 1 coupon = 1 product. If the coupon states "Limit 1 product per purchase" then you can only use 1 coupon and get 1 product. ~ Quida

I am working on matching coupons with sales right now as I work on my grocery list for this week. Time consuming, but it will be worth it 🙂

Does cpns for the same product only different expiration dates count as an identical cpn, even though the cpn is bigger or smaller than the other?

It depends on the wording of the coupon. You have to make sure that there are no discrepancies.
