    We live a long ways from my parents so one year we surprised my Dad with a visit … called him from the airport and asked if he'd like some company for Father's Day. He was all smiles!

    I once gave my Dad (& my Mom for Mother's Day) a cruise. They were surprised because I had arranged for their time off from work and everything. I just told them to pack, then I drove them to the port.

    Crossword puzzle magazines – that is all I have given my father since I become an adult many, many years ago. He does all kinds of word puzzles and goes through them like wildfire.

    I got my husband a Matt Kenesth plaque the first year we were together for father's day from my two girls. It was sad that although he has a daughter 16, it was the first time anyone had given him so much as a card for Father's Day!

    I'm 70. When we were young there wasn't a Father's Day. We only celebrated his birthday. To be honest I can't remember what I gave my father. When my children celebrated Father's Day with their father we took him to a fancy restaurant for Father's Day. They generally gave him clothes since he hated shopping even for himself. Thanks for the giveaway.

    A few years ago we framed an old picture that my dad has of an old train station from his home town that his mother had. He loved it as now it hangs on his wall and is protected!
