Being stuck in the house could get boring and may possibly increase your anxiety levels even more. Since we are currently on home quarantine and I can only leave for my frontline healthcare job, I decided to add 5 more self care tasks daily. I decided that I wanted to do more in my home of what makes me truly happier about myself and for mental thought control. Here are the 5 more self care and mental thought control tasks that I added.
* More prayer time – Since I already pray every morning for myself, family, friends and others, I added another 30 minutes of prayer for the world especially with the current COVID-19 pandemic that we are all facing. I pray for things such as a quicker cure, vaccines and medications that work, reduced deaths, healthcare providers to have the necessary equipment to continue the care of others, and more.
*Daily mini facial – Self care is important and I love a good facial, I mean who doesn’t! Not only could it help to improve the appearance of your skin, but it helps me with relaxation and more pampering and I can always use more of those.
*Compliments to myself – Being in healthcare can have it ups and downs. Even though there are some compliments, I feel like there should be more, I am just saying. Each day I find one compliment about myself that I may not have already come up with to tell myself. I reflect on this compliment throughout the day. I even have a jar of compliments that I can always reflect on.
*Cloud watching – When I was a young girl, I used to lay out in the grass and look up into the clouds to see what their shapes resembled. I enjoyed this a lot with all of my cousins. I have gone back to this as an adult since it also helps to clear my mind from the chaos that is currently happening in the world.
*Have a lazy day – As a mother and spouse, my days are usually filled with many different tasks. Since the Coronavirus, I now get to choose which day will be my lazy day. On this day, I absolutely do nothing and just catch up on some of my favorite series even if they are ratchet! I also get to catch up on some of my favorite movies without interruption.
