Since I am a new mom I got a LOT of tips and advice from EVERYONE my son is just about to turn 5 months old so I STILL get new tips and advice… a few of the tips that I took to heart were
1. sleep when the baby sleeps
2. you can never spoil a newborn baby, so hold your baby as much as you want
3. these are the best times with your baby and they go so fast, so don't stress out
4. take some time to just relax, the dishes can wait
5. DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP! Especially if people keep asking to help! TAKE THEIR HELP!! Don't be a martyr
some of the bad advice I got was
1. make a bigger hole in the nipple so I can give my baby rice in the bottle(terrible advice, don't do it)
2. start feeding baby rice at 1 month old (nooo way)
3. at 3 months you can give your baby juice!
4. just put a sugar cube in his mouth to help him sleep
5. you can put salt and pepper in his baby food if he doesn't like it
I actually got a lot of bad advice that I don't use, I always follow my pediatricians advice and ask her questions when I don't have the gut instinct.
who ever offered to help you with the baby take them up on the offer. You can get that extra hours of sleep that you need. -Anita Anderson
