How many siblings did your father or grandfather have? Is there anything special that they would do together to maintain a great relationship?

    my grandfather only had a sister but my dad had 2 brothers and 1 sister and they were really close. My father had to drop out of school and help support them. He was more like a dad than a brother. Gale pgan427@yahoo.com

    My dad is the oldest son but the 3rd child he does have a younger brother. When he was young he tried to protect his little brother from his fathers abuse. My dad however was not protected from the abuse of both parents and when he left home he was disowned. Later in her life my grandma regretted disowning my father but it was too late and she ended up getting the worse possible care when she was deemed incompetent to make her own decisions because my aunts and uncle wanted her money for themselves. Her treatment was so bad that the sate protective services was called by my father and now the other children are mad because the state was seizing assets when she died for her care. Now the state has ruled that most of the children have already received their inheritances because of unpaid money that was loaned to them and documented by their mother. Because several nurses testified on my fathers behalf that his mother felt true sorrow for what she had done my father will be getting a small inheritance because he never took any money from his mother. My father wanted a relationship but his siblings hate him. My grandfather the only one that I knew was also hated by his family he was the middle child of 6 and at about age 17 his father died of a heart attack in his arms. However my grandfather tried very hard to be friends and take care of his siblings especially as they got older. My brothers keep in touch with me through phone calls the youngest in my family of 4 children is my primary care taker so I say there is a big role reversal because I am the oldest and he is the youngest. Yet my brother takes care of me. I am glad that all my family talks to each other, and try to love each other.

    My father had 12 other siblings in his family! They were a very close family! They grew up in North Dakota where it is very cold and they lived on a farm. All the brothers and sisters helped one one another with the chores! My Grandma (my Dad's mom)was a very loving and kind woman! She was very affectionate! My Dad's siblings were very loving to one another! They helped each other out over the years by giving money, food, etc!

    My Dad had one brother (and a number of Step-siblings that I have never met), and they lost touch after we moved. My Uncle died before they could reconnect.

    My Dad has three brothers,but really only stays in contact with two of them and every year he goes to the racetrack with them.Plus he only has one sister.

    My dad has one brother and one sister. I'm told growing up that all 3 of them always fought, but now they are all very close. They are always getting together on birthdays and holidays and see other quite often!

    My dad has 2 brothers and 1 sister 🙂
    Prepare yourself….. my grandfather has 4 brothers and 7 sisters!! By the way in case you didn't know I have a huge family lol! I have no clue how my great grandmother raised 12 kids Some days I have a hard time with 2!!
