Bei den Fensterrahmen ist zu beobachte, dass die modernen Elemente heute etwas dicker sind als noch vor einigen Jahrzehnten.
Der Ursache dafür ist einfach: Bestanden die Fenster in früheren Zeiten aus einer einzelnen Glasscheibe, kombinieren sie heute mehrere Scheiben zu Verbundmaterialien. Sie müssen flexibel langen, um sich gut zu Fenstern in verschiedenen Formen verarbeiten zu lassen. Die Zwischenräume sind mit isolierenden Gasen gefüllt,

All das braucht seinen Platz. Da die Fensterelemente allerdings bombensicher schlanker als das
Mauerwerk bleiben, ins sie eingesetzt werden, ist diese größere Stärke kein Problem.
