Top Ways College Students Can Save on Textbooks

College Textbooks can sometimes be one of the highest expenses in college besides tuition. I remember when I was in college that I would always look for the used books first or swap with my college friends. Here are some helpful ways to help save with those expenses.
*Ask some of your classmates if they already have the book. There is nothing wrong with a used book.
*Buy used instead of new. Check for any major scratches, marks or any pages being torn from the book.
*Hardcover can sometimes be less expensive that soft cover. Compare them both.
*Sell previous old semester books. Don’t keep them especially if you need the cash.
Here are a just a few websites to visit to either buy or sell college textbooks:
*Half.com
*Amazon.com
*Directtextbooks.com
*Chegg.com (search for scholarships)
*Addall.com
*Bigwords.com
*Bookrenter.com
*Campusbooks.com

Love the idea of both buying used and selling back books. All of these things save a lot of money that college kids can use.

I would like to understand the Walgreens, CVS savings program to see if it's worth it. People say they get things for free but from what I understand you have to pay for items to earn points and use the points on the next purchase. You still have to come out of pocket so that's not free. How do you really saving?

There are definitely items that after purchase with the use of a coupon that will end up free. Plus there are alot of items that will be FREE after you purchase, use a manufacture coupon, get back Walgreens points and/or add Savings App rebates. Thanks Natalie for the question.

I agree. Always try to buy used books. Also toward the end of the semester you can trade your book in for cash if your college allow this at their school.
