We use the envelope system to keep our finances in check. It works for our family because it's a good way to get what we need each month, with a little allowance for entertainment or eating out, and we can put a good amount of our income toward paying down our debt.

Yes, it is a good idea to check on it. i do not have a credit score because i do not have any open accts. but have checked on it regularly and noticed that a someone put a fake debt on mine, by using info from an old debt and was trying to collect. Jodi Hoppe Wresh CIAwoman66@yahoo.com

It is good that individuals can request each of the free annual credit reports from the 3 agencies (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) to check for errors and verify everything is as it should be especially in this age of identity theft.

All of those are great tips, I regularly check my credit score, what people really need to make sure and do is keep track of their FICO score. That is what is used when trying to take out a car note, home, and for credit card interest
