With a family of 5 it's expensive to go to the movies. We usually to go the matinee or wait until it comes to Redbox.

We enjoy Netflix and Amazon Prime is great too! They both have lots of TV shows, movies and original series that are pretty good also! Netflix is very affordable at $8 a month and Amazon Prime had a one day lowest price sale (I think was $67/year or so).

When I go out to the theater, I save on entertainment by using my AMC Stubs Membership and bringing my own snacks which I buy from the Dollar Tree. I also surf the web to see if there are any available movie theater coupons or promo codes. When I want to watch a movie at home, I usually save by using my Netflix subscription for just $8 a month. Every now and then, I might rent a cheap Redbox.

There's lots of ways I save. I joined Regal's Crown Club, I get points for every dollar spent . These can then be used to purchase tickets, food, and/or merchandise. I also go Monday through the Thursday which is when I can get a $2.00 student discount by Just showing my college I.D. Sometimes if it's just my boyfriend and I, we rent a movie through iTunes for $2.99 or $3.99 as opposed to $10×2. A free route to go is primewire.ag or solarmovie.is

I sign up for coupons to local theaters, I also go during matinee times.
My local movie rental store has dollar movies and even a free section, while most of those are older there is a lot that I haven't seen yet or really liked and want to rewatch.

The way that I save on going to the movies are wait until the movie I want to see come to the cheaper movie theater like the dollar theater and for snacks I go across the street to a dollar general store and take my snacks with me… I not trying to pay $10 on a movie and then pay for expensive snack….I got frugal on lock lol.

I either do Matinées where the movie is a couple of dollars cheaper or we go to our local drive in. The drive in is much cheaper as well. We take our own drinks, candy, and we use our refillable popcorn bucks. Its only cost $4 to fill them up.

I do a couple of things. I get emails about specials like buy a popcorn get a free drink. Or buy a drink and popcorn, and get a free pretzel.

The other thing we do, is usually go to the Matinee, it is usually cheaper, and after waiting a couple weeks, usually less crowded.

    Thanks for the chance! ~Tom

I save by having this APP called Showbox and you can't get it at the regular APP Store you have to have it sent to you by email my husbands friend got it and he sent it to us so we can watch movies that are already out in theater and then some. Which is awesome because movies had gotten really expensive over the years, and you can watch on your android or kindle or buy a product called "Chromecast" to hook up to your TV to watch on your flat screen (:

Pila M. – I usually buy my movie tickets through my insurance company AAA. I also try and look out for savings while couponing for ex. hang tags & peelies with promotions stating $x.xx amount off when you purchase $x.xx amount of product. I also aim to watch matinee movies 🙂

I joined the AMC stubs program. It really saves so much money. You get free upgrades on your popcorn and drinks, there is no fee when you buy tickets online and for everyone hundred dollars you spend you get $10 back. I also like to find movies with peelies on them for a certain dollar amount off a ticket. Every dollar helps!
