i remember making my mom an ash tray and a cup when i was in school, i havent been in touch with the mother thing until a couple years ago and this year i got my mom a journal that i personalized and it came with a necklace and i got her a cookie graham th9ing and a card and for the first time ever my mother called me and said to me she was so proud as a mom to be my mom. i have been through so much and if it wasnt for her i wouldnt be who i am today. and she made sure she let me know how good of a mom i am and how good i made her feel this year, so this mothers day was my most memorable. thank you for bringing up all these amazing memory,s. sometime i dont think about things and you have made me think about alot of good stuff, awsome.

My most memorable card I gave my mom was the first card I ever bought for her myself. The card's text was written by me and picked by me.I even had a picture of the family included inside. The card wasn't just a card it had meaning something I really took time in doing.I gave it to her with breakfast in bed and she loved it.She still has that card along with all her other cards.

I remember one year I really wanted to get my mom something super special. We had just lost our dad and every Mother's Day they would go out to eat to her favorite restaurant and he would get her a present. Now that he was gone she was a little bit down. We went out to eat with the whole family and my husband was at work. I asked if he could bring in her present when he walked in. It was a huge dozen of rozes a poster with all of my dads favorite music, The Beatles, and their CD collection and a t-shirt. She started crying and said that she could now "Rock On" like he use to and it would seem like he's right there rocking with her.

Honestly I can't remember I am 47 and my mom passed away in 2000. I do remember the cards I get from my children….I think they are beautiful…I think the most memoral ones are from my oldest whose 23. She is autistic and lives in a residential home almost 2 hours away from me…oh how I'm crying now because I know how hard she tries for something I know she most likely doesn't understand. She's a smart girl, for example she can read which we all realized and taught herself because when she started school I put sight words in front of her and she read them. When I spoke to her teacher I said wow u taught her to read and she said no I didn't I thought u taught her. The problem is mentally she's like a 2 year old with lack of understanding danger except for maybe of something's hot and communicates for her wants and needs. Anyway I hope this counts as an entry because it is such a pleasure to see her try her best.

The best cards have been ones I made myself, including family pictures & sometimes drawings or stickers or bits of writing that mention things that are meaningful to our family.

I remember the best Mother's day card was probably the one I sent when I was in Desert Storm/Desert Shield, we were heavy on mobilization, and moving closer to the border of Saudi Arabia, didn't have allot of time to right, was just a folded piece of paper, saying I love you mom, I am okay. Was the only mail she had in months from me. She was just overwhelmed that I was okay.

Since I had my kids I always let them make her cards 🙂 This year my 1 year old had cheese curls before we started so when I gave my om her card she wanted to know what the orange smudges were…… I told her its a scratch and sniff card :)!!!

Since my son was born 2 years ago, I've been making my mom cards for every occasion. I put together a compilation of my son's photos with captions and quotes. This year, her Mother's Day included pics of his first haircut, first cupcake, and other cute "firsts". I make sure to include a sweet note letting her know that while I wasn't an easy child to parent, all of her hard work and sacrifice did has not gone unnoticed. marthalynn16 at gmail

For me the most memorable is one I don't remember giving her. At some point when I was about 7 years old I drew my mother a picture for mother's day of two baby birds in a nest and they were talking about eating a worm cause their mommy brought it to them. It was poorly drawn and the spelling mistakes were plenty. The reason that this is memorable for me is that years later when I was 13 or 14 I had gone to my mother's office for take your mother to work day. My mother had a corkboard and while it was covered with lots of things for her work right in the middle was that picture I had made her years ago. It is memorable to me because even as a snotty teenager who was embarrassed by the work of art I knew that it meant so much to my mother. Now that I'm older and a mother myself it means even more to me because I realize just how precious it is when your child makes something just for you.
