Second, decide exactly how much money do you need to save if there was an emergency. This could be $500 – $15,000. You decide upon the amount. Open you an extra savings account and let those side hustle/part-time job opportunities rack in the cash into this account. For example, if you had a part-time job making you an extra $500 a month and you saved this amount every month for 1 year, you would have an extra $6K in your new account! Cha, Ching! I know some people right now with $0 to their names yet they have so many talents they could make money from. What about you?

Third, earn money back from stores that you shop at the most using specific money saving apps or websites like Coupons.com, Ibotta, Checkout 51, Kroger, Fetch, Rakuten, etc. Use these apps throughout the year, and never cash out until 1 year mark. When you get to a certain amount saved from just shopping for items that you normally spend your money on, transfer this earned rebate money directly into the savings account designated for life emergencies. It’s a win!
