We have a collaboration called Fresh Fork out here where I live in Ohio, what it consists of is about 15-20 local farmers and growers, who supply farm fresh meat, vegetables and fruits to the area by selling bags each week with stuff in it. As fresh as you can get!
I mostly just check for dates, I only to remember to do that for dairy and meat I never think about it for boxed stuff, but I know I should, but I do check for rips or tears on boxes and bags

All excellent tips Karen. 🙂
look, smell and I grow a lot of my own produce and preserve it.
Wonderful Debbie. I love preserves and this is a great way to have more produce at a later time. 🙂
